This run takes you through the Indian Peaks Wilderness, a popular area outside Rocky Mountain National Park that is often considered a more rugged version of the park. Diamond Lake is accessed from the Fourth of July Trailhead and has a 5.8-mile roundtrip hike.

Take your pick of where to fish in the lake. Stick close to the shore and see if there are any fish cruising the shelf or wade in and try to reach deeper waters.
